Indictment

Unexpected things happen often, and today was no exception. Upon arrival at the district prosecutor’s office, I was immediately moved to the courthouse. After waiting for about six hours, I finally stood before the judge. Surprisingly, I was charged not with “habitual gambling assistance,” but as the principal offender of “habitual gambling.” It’s tough, but I didn’t expect that the Proceeds of Crime Act wouldn’t come into play. In the evening, I returned to the detention center and met with Mr. Ueno. It seems that bail might be more likely than I thought.

I desperately want to get out of here. The bail amount is expected to be around *** yen, but as long as I can manage to get out, I believe I can overcome this situation.

起訴

意外な事が良く起こるが、今日もその例にもれる事はないだろう。地検に着くなり裁判所に移動となった。計6時間程待たされて裁判官の前に行く。なんと、「常習賭博幇助」ではなく、「常習賭博」の正犯となった。厳しいが、犯収法がこなかったのは意外だった。夕方、留置に戻り、上野先生と面会した。保釈も意外と可能性があるらしい。
何とかここを出たい。保釈金は、***万円と予想されるらしいが、とにかく何とか出さえすれば打破できるはず。
