They came again. Not even a day apart. I know those detectives are just doing their job, but I hate losing time to read.
When I got back, the store manager (one of my cellmates) had been released… I wish I could have at least said goodbye. Ichi-go ichi-e (once-in-a-lifetime meetings). The encounters I thought I cherished will always remain important to me, but I wonder what they meant to him. Then again, maybe it’s pointless to dwell on that. I spent the rest of the day with that thought.

また来た。1日開けずにまた。あの刑事らも仕事だろうが、本を読む時間が惜しい。
戻ると、店長（同房内の仲間）が釈放されていた・・・。最後のあいさつくらいしたかった。一期一会。今。大切にしてきたと思っていた出会い達は俺にとってはずっと大切なんだけど、彼はどう思ってくれているのだろうか、という詮索は無用かもしれないと思い終って残りの1日を過ごす。
